Saint Magdalene’s · Atlanta

Art as an act of worship.

Visual artists, poets, and musicians at Saint Magdalene’s, praying together and making work that honors God and blesses our neighbors.

Why we exist

Three callings

Everything the Guild does comes back to three simple commitments: to the artist, to the parish, and to the city.

  1. i.

    Form artists

Walking with artists as they grow in their craft and in their life with Jesus, so their gifts become what God meant them to be.

  2. ii.

    Awaken the parish

Bringing beauty into worship and parish life, so our congregation meets God, one another, and the world more deeply through the arts.

  3. iii.

    Bless the city

Offering honest, beautiful work to Atlanta’s neighborhoods, venues, and shared spaces as one small part of God making all things new.

Jesus walked and spoke and ate among us, and his primary tool for teaching was story. We believe God made us to commune with him through his creation and through the stories of our Spirit-filled imaginations.
